Default What Hp at the rear wheels for a stock Ls-1

I was talking to someone today and I told him that I think most factory stock ls-1 cars dyno pretty high from what I have heard. Like in the 290-310 range depending on A4 or 6-speed. He said NO WAY they dyno that high. Any hard dyno results from bone stock cars in the 01/02 years ? I specifically said 01/02 as they come with the ls-6 intake from the factory. ?
Any numbers or links to dyno charts would be appreciated.
Thank you
Ron H.
P.s also I told him I was hoping with my 402, AFR head, fast 90/90 combo would pull about 490-500 rwhp. And I guessed that if so fwhp would probably be around 600. (I have a 10 bolt and an M-6 tranny) He said no way that 500 rwhp would be about 660-700 hp. ? any comments.
Thank you again

Whoever you were talking to sounds nuts. Your 402 should easily make 500 rwhp with the right heads, cam, exhaust, and a good tune. You should assume hp at the flywheel and -18% for a good ballpark rwhp # Its not exact, its ballpark, +/- 10 to 15
Autos lose a higher % of flywheel hp through drivetrain losses, thats why manual trans LS1's make more power. Keep in mind there will always be numerous variables.

from all the numbers ive seen 98-00s usally throw down anywhere from 270-290rwhp depending on tranny and 01-02s around 300-315rwhp depending on tranny. Look at the trap speeds on stock LS1s, anywhere from 103-108mph+ bonestock. My SS went 104.4mph and my TA hit 102.5 stone stock and GMHTP mag had a 02 35th SS 6sp make around 325rwhp in one when they did there last drag test of a stock SS before GM killed the line. It also went 12.96@nearly 109mph in the 1/4 during a hot summer day with Evan Smith driving. You'll easily hit around 500rwhp w/ your 402 combo you mentioned

Just do a search on this forum for dyno sheets. Dude sounds like a mustang guy. I still remember them calling bs for the longest time when their 99 Mustang GT's were getting stomped on the battlefield. When people were dynoing 300whp they were all calling bs, and citing stupid random crap like race heads.

My advise, don't argue with him, and race him after you put in your new setup. After the 20-30 car lengths you put on him i'm sure he'll be telling others about your rwhp to make himself look good.

317rwhp/334rwtq SAE corrected... might have had FRA, but i dont that that does much on a dyno.

Thanks for the reply's guys. Yeah I just wanted to hear other people say that I was right lol. I argued with him the other day for hours. He was mainly disputing that in order to make 500 rwhp I would need about 660-700 at the flywheel. I told him with my 6-speed and stock rear I would maybe lose about 100 hp, he said no way that the driveline loss is more than that and actually thought I was going to lose 200 through the driveline. lmao
Thanks
Ron H.

I like to be conservative and say 12% with my m6. I'd say i'm about 600hp at the flywheel. I don't think you'd lose 100hp through the drivetrain.
