me and my friend are building up his motor
its a stock forged 346
patriot stage 2 6.0 heads 64cc
long tubes
ls6 intake
36 pound injectors
ported throttle body
auto with 3200 stall

now my question is what cam would be best for this combination smog does not matter and input would be appreciated

Well, I am not going to be the only one to suggest this to you.....search a little more.
But since you ask I will try my best.

What is the car's primary use?
Daily Driven?

Strip/ Steet/ Auto-X
230/236 - 224/224 - 226/232

And what is a "stock forged" motor? Unless you mean stock cubes.

Well, what RPM range are you looking to operate in?

So something around a 232-236 duration on like a 114 would probably suit the needs here.

What about a reverse split? That will meet your goals. Have you read about the TR230/224 cam? Would still make good power, but maintain good street manners.

I think it's going to make okay power, but i would not run an exhaust lobe that big unless you plan to spray a 200 shot. I drive my car on the street a lot, and I like to use as much of my power stroke as possible. I wouldn't want my exhaust valve opening so early (236 lobe), needlessly bleeding off pressure too early before bottom dead center.

If you insist on running such a large exhaust lobe, then you could increase the duration on your intake side to not be so heavily exhaust biased. This would allow you more RPM range and theoretically more power potential.

I also wouldn't buy a 114 LSA cam, but that's just me. If I was concerned with overlap, I would just opt for smaller lobes ground closer together.

FWIW, that intake lobe appears to be a little "lazy". I would consider more aggresive profiles.

I know you're not asking me again, but I still vote for the 230/224.
