Default Forged?? what all goes into it

I have a noob question about going forged internals. I am going to have a D-1SC eventually and hear that the only way to crank the boost up is to go forged. What all goes into the process of forging (is that even a word?) thanks

Crank, connecting rods, pistons, I belive thats all. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Forging is heat treated metal, it prevents cracks and breaks under high stress

If you are going to get a forged SB check with some sponsors I got mine from texas speed for 3100. Also if you dont want a bigger cubic in moter get the SB with a stock crank and forged rods and pistons.

Yeah, seems everyone says, stick with the stock crank - but send it out to be reballenced. Otherwise, forged rods and pistons.

Make sure you get ARP rod bolts, if not all bolts to replace the factory stuff.

If your going to be building for a blower, get lower comp pistions, forged rods, upgraded rod bolts, main studs, keep the stock crank, no blower kits out will challenge the stock crank

youd be set, with a good pair of heads to about 900hp with that setup

Whats the fastest someone has gone with a stock crank? Not refering to 10 & 11 second cars, thats the common place. Any 9's or 8's?
