Well I would get some tuning software and tune yourself, its not all that hard with all the help you can get from the foums. Tune as many times as you like, and dont have to pay for each one. I know people risk a mail order tune, but how can someone that could be on the other side of the world doing your tune get it right without your car??
I know this advice dosn't help out the tuners out there eager to get your money. Its just my opinion, read up on it, learn do it wouks, buy the tuning software/hardware. Perhaps its not the best thing for you, depending on if you having a spare laptop.

I have the same question. Ed Wright programed my hotrod LS1/6 PCM and it works perfectly. If I do a 24X LS7 I'd like to tune it myself but I also don't want to spend the money for another Ed Wright programming AND tuning software. I'm also not sure that I want to spend alot of extra time tunning for just a street car. I'm probably going to send my PCM to Ed Wright again. I think it's only $300 for the programming.

I'm sure others may disagree, but if you're not going to buy software and do it yourself I'd take it into a shop and have someone with access to a dyno tune if specifically for your car. Mail orders may be able to get close, but all cars are a little different.

What the mail-order tuners have, is experience. At
least, more experience than the entry level tuning
enthusiast. But whether they have experience with
a particular combo, or will be fooled by something
(including omissions on your part) is key. Fortunately
for you this looks like a pretty standard bolt-on +
cam combo.
Dyno tuning almost never addresses the complaint I
see here, of poor idle / low pedal drivability. That is
where you either buy the tools and whittle at the
tune, or hope that the tuner can throw the dart at
the right spot; maybe "close enough" will do, but
the low-end operation is one of the most highly
variable, fussy aspects.
Mail order tuners have a bad habit of locking up
-your- PCM as if the work-for-hire was their property.
Then your PCM is not tunable anymore by you or
your local twiddle-it-for-a-six-pack buddy; you're
now someone's junkie bitch. As in, no dyno tune
later, for you. Something to consider, and something
to insist upon if you're going to cough up the long
coin.
Mail order tune, you can just pay the bill and go
drive it. Self-tuning has a way of becoming a
consuming hobby.

Another time consuming hobby I don't need. That, and the fact that my first mail order tune was perfectly successful from idle through WOT under all conditions, pretty much sold me on a mail order tune providing they agree not to lock my PCM.
Now, who does the best mail order tune on an LS7 running a 24X reluctor, bigger cam, etc. ?

They use HPTuners and a Mustang Dyno.
Best of luck no matter which way you go.
