Default How Much For Porting Heads?

Didn't know where to put this so I fiqured this section would work. How much would I be looking at to get my heads ported and polished? These are just the stockers off a '99 LS1 Camaro. I'm sure they will be needed to match my cam: Tr224/224 112 as well. Just looking to see what would be a reasonable price before I started asking around in my area. Thanks!

heads would complement your cam but that cam is not huge...they would need to be hot tanked, pressure tested, glass beaded, ported, recleaned, valve job, guides*,and finally shaved to seal the head gasket...$1000 i would do it and you pay shipping

Just buy some CNC LS6 heads from TSP. Around a grand and they're dyno proven!

Its very tough to beat the price and performance of a new set of ls6 heads for under a grand. They flow right around 300 cfm with stock valves. These are tried and true proven performers from a sponsor, unlike the guy offering his services above.

Yes, expect to pay around $1000. You get what you pay for, don't skimp on heads.

We can do you a new set of 243 castings CNC ported With our 5 angle valve job bare for $875.00 shipped to you. We can CNC port and do our valve job to your 241 heads for around $600.00. This price includes cleaning and milling of your heads.

Hey Gunnar, how much will you charge for doing my LT1 heads?

They have high mileage so I would want CNC port job, bronze valve guides, seals, and stainless steel valves. I do want to go with LS6 valve springs that I have if they can work on these heads.

What do you think?

We do not currently have a CNC program for the LT1 heads. We do offer a version of our Patriot Gold kit that will work on the LT1 heads.

Hey RrCox, you may want to call S&J Automachine in Belmont. We took our AS Stage II heads with some damage to one combustion chamber over there and he is going to re-do the valve job for $40 a head. Real knowledgeable guy, stood and talked with him for a long while, and he has an impressive shop!
