Default engine dress up

well i dont drivve my car much any more and i think its time to dress up the motor some. Gonna get some nice valve covers, polish up the alt bracket and alt, polish the fuel rails and get a powder coated intake manifold. MBA used to have a bunch of nice peices but they are out of business i hear, where else can i get stuff like they sold?

There really aren't any big or little fish out there anymore. I have a store opening but it wont have billet pieces right off the bat. I can polish or chrome any metal though.

You can always polish all the aluminum parts. Pretty much most of the engine can be done. My signature picture can give you an idea of what's possible. It would take around $1,500 in labor to totally gloss an engine. ~Joshua

Ive painted them the same color as the car, you can get the LT4 valve covers and add the insterts to them for thunder racing.

Relocate your alternator and you can pick however tall valve covers you want, and that opens up tons of possibilities. Look at my cardomain for an example, in sig.

hey n2oblkz that looks really cool, those are nice valve covers. how did you use them and still keep the Alternator in the same location? did you grind down the valve cover? I got some chrome ones and hammered down the edge alittle to keep the alternator in that local

These valve covers were made for LT1's and already have an alternator cutout.

n2oblkz: I live about 60 miles north of you in Columbus, IN. Just curious, but do you know of any good shows around our area to bring a 4th gen to? Most of the shows I've seen around Columbus are for old school 30's-70's hot rods.

Yeah, there is one right here in Versailles on a Saturday in June that I always attend that is a very good show. Then the next day they have a large show in Greensburg that is a very good show also.

Rising Sun, down on the river has a very large show, the last time that they had one, I heard that they stopped accepting cars at around 500 or so because it was getting too big. The problem with this show is that it usually is the same weekend as Super Chevy in Indy.

I think that you would like the Versailles car show. It usually has a lot of new F-bodies, Vette's and Mustangs along woth a lot of good 1st gen Fbodies. It is a very nice small town car show with nice trophies and good food!

hmmm....so people more readily notice pictures. Okay, here's what you can do if you relocate the alternator. Notice the engine bay symmetry you gain by moving it--looks MUCH better in my opinion.

Since I have long tubes, I routed them farther down under the motor to keep them away from the headers better. I originally had them routed in the stock locations but I experienced a couple burnt wires so I did it this way. So far, it has worked very well.
