Default Merge collectors?

Has anyone experimented with different brands?

When I was considering adding these to my long tubes, I was looking at Dynatech parts:

Rummage around in the Drag Racing section and you'll find some high dollar collectors.

Are those things really worth that $$$ when you can get some good Hooker 1.75"-3" (?merged?) collectors from Jeg's for $75.99 a PAIR? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

The Hooker merge collectors I saw there ranged from like $140 to $170 and those were slip ons:

I'm thinking the collectors you found were just ho-hum collectors. A true merge collector is more expensive due to the more complex work required to build it. Imagine if you wanted one in a flavor of stainless.

Worth it? Only if you're building an all out set of headers and don't like leaving power on the table.

This page from Burns has some nice info.

Just take a look around and note some pricing <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Those are straight collectors.
