Default Home Improvement Question:

Does anyone have an idea what is a reasonable price per square foot to have tile installed?

How about wood floors?

Just labor not material costs since those can vary quite a bit.

Thanks

Figure basic ceramic tile at about 5-6$ per ft. Wood floors vary. Anywhere from $3.50-$8.00 per ft. depending on the end product you want. Just give your local home depot a visit. The floor center can get you a pretty quick quote.

We did a DIY Pergo snap-fit hardwood floor in our kitchen from Lowes.. It took us about a week to finish it and trim it and i think total, we ended up paying around $600. We got it when it was 20% off also, so Im guessing it would have been about $800 if you do it yourself..

if you're going w/wood flooring, just do it yourself....get some of that really nice snap-loc type wood flooring, it looks great, and is easy to install, doesn't even require any glue. you just put this thin pad material down first, then lay the wood flooring on top of that. my mom just recently put the same stuff down in her house, they did it themselves, and it looks great.
