heat shield problem

Can I Remove The Front Heat Shields And Be Ok? My Cats Are Tucked Up So High That They Make A Tapping Sound And Its Pretty Annoying. Any Thoughts?

I have removed all the heat shields from the car except the ones around the fuel lines.
