Default SOME ADVICE APPRICIATED upping LT1

bought a 95 T/A that has the LT1, the 95 wiring, 95 frame, but converted body to a 98+ with US-exotics WS9 hood fully functional ram air with heat extractors.

mods now is lean, bought it this way.

SLP lid
Ram Air
K&N

not much. LOL

i need help knowing what to do for a naturally aspirated under 15 grand, if no i could get close the charge it for the rest. that will get me into the 10s 1/4. without NOS. please include drive shaft, tranny, stall, rear end, (drivetrain). the state law says you cannot have more than 700 hp for street at the wheels. so i want to max that law out or at lease get close. i am going to be a senior in HS and want a project besides that homework crap. lol. have a shop and can do mostly everything. i would like to maintain good gas milage around 16 in town. right now when i wrap it up i still get 19. thanks. my aim-pyronotic138, email-keaton_molleker@yahoo.com Here are a few pics

Good gas milage and big hp is difficult is best acieved by having two cars. Getting that much NA power calls for extra cubes, tricked out heads and intake, a large cam, high CR, maybe use of race fuel and gutting the car.

15 grand will not get you a dependable, 700 hp, NA, Daily Driver, and good gas mileage.

700rwhp and NA will be very tough no matter the budget.

The LT4 stuff is nice, but a little expensive for what it is. I am looking to Port Pros Stage II Ported Heads http://www.portpros.com/GM_LT1-4.html
These with a Port-matched Intake and a 52mm Throttle Body will do nicely.

ok any cam is going to lope your not going to get one that doesnt and make over 500 hp...lt4 is a waste of money buy some ported heads...and over 12 mpg will no be achieved without nitrous...and n/a lt1 wont make 700 to the wheels they are few and far between and definately not daily driveable...get a hair dryer and tear up your motor all the time...or get some n2o and tear it up when you want

I'm getting a 396 LT4 connected up at a shop right now, and have been told it can put as much at 600hp to the crank, and if i'm extremely lucky, 550 to the wheels. But my setup isn't completely streetable. It'll be more of a weekend driver that goes to the track, and in no way a good gas mileage daily driver. I don't think there is anyway, with a N/A LT1, to get over 450 RWHP, and actually make it a dependable daily driver, but I may be wrong.

Calm down a little bit...don't rush into anything. The first thing you need to do is decide WHAT exactly you want and WHAT you can afford. Set a reasonable power goal and go from there. Your thoughts are all over the place now...first you want 700rwhp N/A that gets great gas mileage and is driveable daily, then you say you do not want a turbo if at all possible....now you want a turbo and LT4 kit. Think you ideas through thouroughly and research, reasearch, and research. 700rwhp is a lot of power, not for the un-experienced, and your still in highschool. The only reason I'm saying this is because I too am in highschool. Start off with all of the bolt-ons, some suspension such as LCA's, Panhard bar, SFC's, and some Drag radials. Get used to your car and learn how to drive it effectively/safely and go from there. Throwing a h/c package on and building a bottom end for an STS kit is not simple by any means, nor is caring for a modified car...you will run into some problems at some point. Look for some headers (I recommend Pacesetter LT's/ORY) and a cat-back and go from there. The search button is your friend.
