How many larger turbo (80+mm) street cars?
Just curious, but how many of you guys are running 80mm or larger turbo setups on full street cars, including air conditioning and power steering?
I'm very tempted to put the 88mm turbo and 408ci I was planning on putting in the racecar into the new WS6 Formula I picked up. But, I want to keep this car 100% streetable.
Anyone do this with a stock K-member or without having to hack up the car?

Tony just do a simplel setup in the Formula. You sold the other one I assume to keep from spending loads of money on race parts. Just do a Procharger or nice street turbo setup and roll with that. It would be a sweet car man!!!

Don't mess around with that WS6 Tony. It's too perfect to heavily modify like that
IMO. Running a 408 and a 88mm turbo = racecar...at least all the supporting
mods will make it feel like a racecar, even if it's driven on the street. A 67 or a 76
might be a different story.

We are starting on my buddies car. Its the one off kit from the sponsor that I cant talk about due to non payment. But his rad support is getting cut for the custom griffin radiator. 402(iron) with the T 88. Heres a pic of the turbo. A guy in town has the same turbo in his stang and it does 8's

besides, I already have all the engine, fuel, turbo, and BS3 sitting here. I wouldn't have to 'spend' any more, already have all the hardware
unit, this Formula already has a 12-bolt rearend and full suspension. It can handle some more power. I'd like ~750 rwhp on pump gas.

a/c is an option from the factory
anywhere i go is in my car.
not touching tire pressure or race gas or changing tires or shock settings, straight from work, its been 10.77 at 136 on a 1.81
3800#, 18" tires up front 17" mt dr's on back
thats the number i will be working to knock down this year.

Hmm.
I wonder.
I am running a 427 with two 60mm.. results to be yet know.
However, the theory is full boost at 4-5k to 7k.
Looking at the lastest Motor Trend.
Why reinvent the wheel. Case studies work best.
Hennessey Viper 522 cid. Full boost at 5,000-7,450
LPE 427 cid. Full boost 4,500-6,500
Full Cats.
Full Drivability.
The cars are both 1,038+rwhp capable and are obviously fast.
LPE trapped 151 on BFG's on the first run and hit 212 mph. in the mile.
The Viper trapped 153 on BFG's.
These are six speeds, so thats moving.
Note all cars had boost turned down to make less power.
I would venture to guess, based on past results I have seen they are at only 10-13 psi. of boost.
Viper 983/985, 7472
LPE 772/822, 6,500
MTI STS T GTO 789/788 at only 5,404
Theory one, with the larger stroker, boost is not needed at lower rpm and sufficient torque is already being produced vs. a 346-383.
Second theory, based on MT article, car is more drivable and civil on the street not being in full boost. Runs like stock.
Third theory. Car will be easier to drive on the road course looking at MT comments and HP chart.
Fourth theory. No additional wear on parts, until into boost and no additional heat.
Fifth theory. Curb weight at this power level is more important than increase in power. I am at 3,100 lbs.
Sixth theory. Differential. Take a one look at the twisted LPE differential tells all why the car is setup this way.
Up for serious debate for the, "Rebels with a Clue." Tuners & the real go fast people like ED at LPE, Might Mouse, Nine Ball, etc..

Anyways, I decided to sell all the turbo and racing stuff and regroup while I think about some other plans
someone should jump on this turbo package deal

I think twins are easier packaged in a car you wish to keep all the accessories in.
I'm currently building a system with twin GT35R's that will keep all accessories in the stock location in my 2001 SS.

I say go for it Tony. That car is bad *** now but will be wicked with a T88 408 and six speed. You wouldnt even need to run super hihg boost to make it nasty on the street. Just keep the setup clean. That car deserves it.
