Corey,

Been awhile since we have an update on your Vette conversion, what is the latest. :drive:

I received some cylinderheads the other day (at long last!)... I've changed to ARE stage II's instead of the original MTI stage II's. It was just taking too long to get the used set I had located and these are very much comparable.
These heads are pretty and look almost brand new. In keeping with my high value - low cost out of pocket plan... these worked perfectly. I traded a brand new set of SBC Darts for them. Thanks again, Ellis!

The engine top end is town back down right now in anticipation of the final build. It was only assembled for mock up before.

While the top is torn down... I've cut away all the extraneous L98 wireharness parts I'm not using. I found I could have left the complete original harness but it was crowded around the engine and really looked terrible. I didn't like it and it would never look right. So I terminated all the cut ends with shrink wrap last night and bound them close to the firewall to create as much room as possible for the new harness. I'm still fussing with final PCM placement. Not sure where its gonna fit and work best at.

Reassembly will begin today. Of course more pics of the harness and such will be posted sometime here soon.

Cool. When do you think you'll be bringing that bad boy out?

Probably never... this MF has me so pissed!

New list of parts needed...

1. 1 New ARP head bolt

2. 1 Tap to clean a fucked thread in the block

3. 2 new oxygen sensors (2004 GTO style) the geniuses at Bosch decided to put the male end of the O2 plugs on the harness instead of the sensor. Too bad I bought and installed the 2000 camaro style in the exhaust manifolds already. Now I can't return them.

4. 1 new coolant temp sensor to replace the one that twisted off REALLY easily.

5. I already bought a "easy-out" to remove the brass remnants stuck in the head.

6. And I need a knock sensor harness. I had one located online but the jackass decided on some stupid figure for shipping. I'll just buy new. If I'm gonna overpay at least I know I'll receive a working part.

Naturally, not a single part I need is stocked anywhere this side of the water. So... since I can't order anything until Tuesday... and I don't know how long shipping is gonna take... If I'm "lucky" I might be able to fire it up in two weeks. MAYBE.

Did I mention I'm tired of waiting on this project!

I think Jules said it best in Pulp Fiction: "I'm a mushroom cloud laying motherfucker, motherfucker!!!" :bash: :guns:

Sorry I couldn't get you them sooner, but as soon as Ellis can work me into his schedule the MTI's will be coming off. I guess I'll be putting them back up for sale. Glad to see it all worked out for you tho.

I got some used O2s & an H2O temp sensor you can borrow to get it fired up if you want.

I appreciate the offer, Mark, but I'll just pick up the parts myself. It would be tempting... but I'm still screwed on the bolt hole for now and I'd have to drain coolant to take the sensor out etc, etc, etc. I'll just put it together once and hopefully be done!
