I plan to use custom, cut to fit wires. Probably from Jegs, or Summit. Should be able to do it with the right tool. I was just wondering on methods to attach them to the bottom of the cowl.

John, that link didn't work. I'll try it agin tomorrow. Anyone else got pics or a writeup?

The simplest scenario is to buy a set of Taylor universal wires w/180deg. plug boots, and then buy a set of Taylor LT1 optispark boots.

The wires I had on my car were MSD LT1 cut-to-fit wires, and I had to purchase 180deg. plug boots for them, since the LT1's all used 90deg. plug boots. The MSD wires were just a pain to build. I've built some Taylor wires in the past, and they are much easier.

As soon as I get my heads back and stick the motor back in my car, I'll be building my new Taylor plug wires... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Check out how reckless did his. Cheap, simple and easy...that's how I plan to do mine. I think George talked me into the taylor wires. Are the 8mm spiro pro what I want?

I just relocated my coil packs using the Jay Fisher setup, with pre-cut wires. Install took less than an hour and turned out great!

I have just finished this. The first 10 or so pics at my on-line car photo album are of the coil relocation. Try this link:

Just did a little research and found the 409 race wires and plugs. For those that ARE NOT doing coil relocations Taylor makes a set of 409s already setup for the LS1. You can get the color/part number off this page from their catalog:

http://www.taylorvertex.com/catalogindex/2002TV38.PDF

If you want the cut to length race wires you can find them on this page of the catalog:
http://www.taylorvertex.com/catalogindex/2002TV39.PDF

There is a custom fit guide as well, listed here:
http://www.taylorvertex.com/catalogindex/2002TV67.PDF

To save a little time, if you want all black wires, the race set is part number 79055. The straight coil ends in black are part number 46059. The race wires come with HEI and coil boots that are 90 degrees. Essentially the 79055 appears to be a 11" long truck wire rather than an 8" wire. I'm not sure if that's quite long enough though. I'll have to measure under the hood this weekend and see how long they need to be and possibly order a longer wire set.

You'll have to buy 8 of the 46059 ends to go onto the wires, they are about 6 bucks a piece. The race wires are about 100 bucks for all of them.

UPDATE Feb 20, 2004: It's been brought to my attention that the part numbers from Taylor are actually incorrect. Someone on the board found this post using the search and ultimately ordered these, only to find they are more of an LT1 style plug assembly. Please contact Taylor directly to get their part number.
