Default What fuel pump and regulator ?

I got my wiring harness back from speartech for my 2000 camaro ls1 and have hooked it up. The body is not on the frame yet (1955 Chevy), but I would like to start the engine. I have a fuel pump from a 1999 camaro. Would this work? Should I get a different type of pump and regulator? What have you guys done?
Thanks

the factory setup doesnt use a regulator as it isnt a return style fuel system.

it depends on how you are goin to set it up

Dave, no disrespect but whoa there on the advice without experience.

we do very much have a regulator (in tank) and it is connected to the end of our fuel return line.

2002, where are you getting fuel lines from? making your own?

i assume you are using the stock 2000 fuel rails

what i would do is get some hard 3/8 tube from jegs etc. and run your own line. what are you going to do for the tank? f-body?

you can get all the adapters you need from jegs, just look around and match up the numbers.

i laid my fuel system out 3 times on paper and still missed parts when i ordered.

heres my stuff:

you definitely need to have a return line or bleed off line styel system with a regulator.

approx 58psi is what your computer is tuned for so you will need to find a fuel injection regulator that is capable of that.

since you have no return off of the rail, you can either modify the rails, or get aftermarket ones, or t-off of the pressure line like a stock f body setup to get your return line

email me if you need more info, David

This project is for my dad's car. I just know more about what is going on for the fuel and other systems. I remember that the fuel pressure is supposed to be set at 58psi. I had just wondered if we were going to be able to use this pump that we have. The fuel rail is the stock 2002 piece, but what is the cad plated looking diaphragm that has a plastic line running to just behind the throttle body? What we would like to do is to run hard line using a '55 style gas tank. Where should the return port be put on the stock fuel rail?
Thanks for your help!
