Default normal idle speed?

whats the normal idle speed supposed to be for a pretty much stock car. i have a lid, hpp3, and cutout...just put in a sy3500 converter, but was idling at 500rpm even before that.

is that low?

just used to my v6 that idled at around 700 or so i guess...

Default Re: normal idle speed?

I've had the ST3500 TC for over a year, and mine will not idle at the same rpm consistently, but I hardly even notice anymore unless I happen to be watching the Tach through extended idling.
My idle may be (by the car Tach) anywhere from 500 - 650 rpm in drive, w/AC off. Something about the TC seems to effect the idle.
I've P&P, epoxied the TB, and optimized the IAC counts, but it just does it anyway.
