Default Vodoo Cam?

I was reading the March '06 ed of Chevy Rumble article on the Lunati Vodoo Cam 212/218 with 116 lsa. lift is .531 in and the results look impresive to me, specially if the specs conform to a stealthy cam. Would this be suitable for a stock setup or would upgraded valve springs be necessary? I know that ported heads would contribute to the performance output but to how significant the extent? any better altenatives to the Lunati cam?

TIA for the input,

yes, you will need to upgrade the valvesprings. ported heads would help but are not necessary, some people are running MUCH bigger cams on stock heads with no problems.
