I wouldn't run a spacer in the rear, if you grind enough, you'll be fine. What do you need an impact socket for? Just get a regular deep well with a torque wrench and you're set.

takes over a jillion turnes per nut.
I would have an air tool to do it again.

I have a moser rear. the studs are long as hell.
i ground alot and thought it was enuf. still did not clear.
after the untimely brake failure of a fellow Ls1'r. I thought the spacer was safe.

I know what you mean about the jillion turns. I tried putting my 15x10 Prostars on today, but the Nittos are rubbing like crazy and I have to bang the insides more!

Matt, local guy in Midwest. there is a post there.
Never finailized the fact that it could have been the caliper.
All we know is the caliper split apart while braking from 130.

I though I ground alot. Its prettt intimidating taking all that metal off.
I should keep going as I am sure I will have 28/10's next year.

I read that post and am a little confused by it. Apparently it was his front caliper that failed. Most on here dont grind the front calipers.

my back calipers are ground way more. Almost makes me uncomfortable. This is w/ a 15x10 prostar and no spacer. I also heard about the caliper failure in the midwest section. Granted my front calipers are hardly ground, but the backs worry me.

i did mine today. i ground the fronts so i didnt need a spacer and i took off a lot of material. im going to have to say everyone whos said they didnt need to grind much on the fronts had some decently worn brake pads.
