Default valve springs shims?

I ordered a f-13 and the upgraded valve spring kit that has the manley dual drop in spring and with this they sent me shims.What to do with the shims,dont know if I need them or not.The car is a 02 z a4 stock heads,thanks.

The right thing to do is to measure the installed height of the valve spring. Not all valves are the same height, if they have been ground they stickup higher so you will need to shim the spring to get the correct height when the valve is closed. Check the specs on the springs. If the valve closed height is 1.900" and yours measures 1.950, install the .050 shim.

thanks for the help,but i think Iam keeping the springs there already paid for.I guess I just thought those ones they sent me are the right one to use with no measuring.Called futral today they said allen was busy took down my name and number but no one has gotten back yet.
