Default Did it with bolt ons only.

The goal was to turn my Z into a 12 sec car with bolt on only components. No internal changes to the engine. The time is without a stall or gears which are the next mods.
Here are the times done at San Antonio Raceway in Texas:

Reaction--- .7694
60 ft.------ 2.0463
330 ft.----- 5.5926
1/8 ET----- 8.4538
1/8 MPH----86.62
1000 ET----10.91261
1/4 ET----- 12.9980
1/4 MPH----108.41

Yeah Baby! Yeah
Can we reach 11's? We'll see!

Yeah thats sweet man. When I first got my 2000 camaro ss it was stock and run a 12.9 on street tires. Then i took out the back-seat and spare-tire and used some nitto drag-radialsamd with slp lm exhaust and K&N FIPK I ran a 12.65 and that was with stock suspension. I run 8.0@90-mph in the 1/8 mile. I was cutting 1.8 60ft times. Since then I installed suspension, pacesetter lts and ory,and 4.10-moser gears. My car is a auto and has ever bolt-on except ls6 manifold and pulleys. It has a stock converter too. What are your next set of upgrades.

Right now the only thing I have planned is maybe a panhard bar, but for sure a Yank stall 2600-2800. . This will allow me to install a cam and some heads if I choose to later, while at the same time maxamize what I already have in the car. I was thinking of some 3.73 gears but most of the Ls1 know alots tell me that the gains vs. money issue make the gears not worth it at this time. All of them said Stall over gears for max benefit at this time. Most track gain and fun factor for the money. I have to be real careful cause this is still my daily driver and I may be tempted to create a track Frankenstien cause I'm obsessive like that.
Oh snap, forgot that I'm gonna do the underside pully as well.

Good job...

Now come join us in the 11 second club with bolt ons. It can be done...

*points at sig*

The stall over gears argument is correct. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would have gotten my stall first. On the other hand, however, the gears do make the car much more driveable.

I would consider at least a 3200 stall. I was gonna go 3500, but decided to go 4000, and am glad I did, because I know I would have wanted a re-stall later on.

Go bigger than a 3000 stall.

I was told that given the stock cam and internals the 2800 stall will prevent slippage as may occur with a bigger stall, and still give me the umph needed. I won't be putting a cam or heads in for about 6 -8months.
I was told to work it this way by various individuals (they have 10 and 11 sec cars). What yall think?
After stall what would be a good bolt on choice? Me thinks Underdrive pulley.

Don't go under a 3500 stall is my opinion, because you'll be wanting to pull it out and go bigger if you do, especially if you go heads and cam later. Slippage is the point of a stall, you want it to slip to a higher rpm, that's how you get to the power.

I say go for the underdrive pulley and an LS6 intake, as these will be my next mods, and will get me deeper into the 11's. You also might consider doing the short belt mod at the track, that helped me out a good little bit the last trip I took to the track.

I agree go with a bigger stall my friend with stock car and a 3500 stall went 12.8 and my other friend with a 4000 stall and 3.73 gears ran a 12.3 . If mine was automatic I would buy a 4000 stall.
