Default Anyone running 17x7's in the front????

Just curious if anyones running a 7" rim up front.........I cant decide on 7" or 8" in the front. I really want my rear tires to look big compared to the front and I think a 7" rim would help with the contrast.
Dont 7's handle a lot better as well???
Any pics guys??? Any suggestions are much appreciated, thanks!

7inch rims would look rediculous on a trans am. Please do not do it. if you want your rims to look wider in the back. You need wider rims then 8 inches. AT LEAST get 9's or 9.5's in the rear. i have 9.5's in the front 11's in the rear. I think it is impossible to actually make 8inch rims look wide on an fbody.

what kind of rims are they. by the way. i have not seen any rim on a camaro skinnier then 8inches, unless its a drag setup. 7inches is skinnier then stock . i personally think 7inches is entirely too skinny and your tire will be a 225? that would not look good at all. why not go with 9.5's in the front as well? Putting an 8in wheel will prob make the rear look a tad bit wider, but the front of your car will not look good with an 8 in wheel.

we've got some setups with 17x6" wheels shown in our gallery. We built a nice setup that many have probably seen on the cover of GMHTP which would be exacly like you are describing.

I'll see if I can find that picture. I don't have that one listed since the picture was professionally taken and advertised in their magizine and do not have written permission to put it on our site. ...at any event, there are others in our camaro section. Look for the RR setups.

Rims are Centerline, rear are 18x9.5 and fronts are going to be either 17x7 or 17x8.
If I went with a 7" wide rim for the front, the tires would either be 225/55x17 or 235/50x17. The rear tires are 275/40x18.
So I'm just trying to decide on the front width basically, I've never seen 7" wide rims in the front on an F-bod though. I'm curious what it looks like......thanks!

A 275 isn't exactly the biggest you can get back there, tire choices and wheels wouldn't be my first choice. You're probably more limited with that large wheel. Be careful with tire diameters...ABS can be problematic with too large of a varience...Traction will be terrible, you'll be adding a ton of weight really for no benefit. If you like the setup all the above really doesn't matter, go for it, if you like it.

Hey,
thanks a lot for the gallery pics! I realize the ABS problem, but I know what sizes keep the OD of the tires close enough to prevent ABS problems.
I just really like the look of the 17/18 staggered combo. I dont drag race my car or anything. Its just to have fun on the streets! My 66 Coronet is for the strip
Thanks again guys! Judging by those 17x6's......I think it might look kinda cool. I still cant decide though!

Here's the one from GMHTP. This to me is a setup that depicts what you initially described...though now, with the skinny rubber bands on an 18 inch wheel, your looking at a completely different setup. My opinion, 18's really are a bit too large for a car that has little traction to begin with, let alone consider the weight that you are adding. As mentioned, if you like it for looks only, then go for it.

There's others on our website, B Noyes (white camaro) and others had setups very similar to this. Look in our Camaro Gallery.

quick calculation, the one is ~.5 difference. Keep in mind, though ABS may not be deactivated (noted by ABS lamp iluminated)...your ABS WILL be off calibration.

So what does this mean...This means that it will activate more often and more then likely times when you don't or even want ABS to turn on. ABS is really a pain in the butt in my opinion...thus why we have delete kits to remove it all.

Hell 9" is the stock size...9.5 isn't much different...

I went with 11" also
