Disconnecting fuel line, with no tool
Is it possible to disconnect the fuel line without one of those tools? I haven't got one available to me, but I'd really like to drop the engine tomorrow... Anyone done this?

That tool is available at any autoparts store. It's not specific to the LS1. If you try anything else you would only be lucky. You could use some sheetmetal curled up and try it, but that sounds like a pain in the ***. Ripping it off will only set you on a trip to the autoparts store to get a replacement retaining clip if you damage it.

The tools that remove the fuel line from the rails appear to work on more than one application. On a hunch me and my room mate tried to use the tool he had for his Ford Ranger - it worked on my 02 silverado.

Anyone know what size to use? I tried a 5/16 tool from the auto parts store but it didn't fit. I ended up not needing to take the line off so I never used anything else.

See the problem is, is that I live in a little redneck town, with no auto parts stores within a two hour radius <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
