Default Painted my 10 spokes anthracite

I've heard a few guys wondering about painting their 10 spokes. My junker set of 10 spokes were lookin pretty bad, so a little scuff here, a little paint there, and i don't think it turned out too bad. Let me know what you think.

thanks for the replies, yea i definitely think it looks better than before, i should've thrown some before pics up. i originally thought the color would be too dark, but the rims were crap anyway, so i had nothing to lose. i also painted the calipers while i was at it.

i have some silver 10 spokes on my car and they are lookin rough as well. i actually went today and bought some graphite dupli-color and clear for them. did you use any adhesive primer before you sprayed them and did you keep the tires on?

by the way they look great, cant wait to do mine. but my car is white.

You know, I never liked the 10 spokes until all of you started painting them black and charcoal/anthracite (especially the latter!). Now I think they look great (yes, even on a black car)!!

i didn't put any primer on, just scuffed everything really good and put 2 coats of paint and 1 coat of clear on. I also kept the tires on, i made a template with masking tape and since my tires still had some gloss on them the tape didn't stick on the tire very good. so i was able to lift the masking tape template and use it for all four wheels. that definitely saved a bunch of time. once again thanks for all the compliments.

did the paint actually stick to the outside lip of the rim where it makes contact to the tire? i was worried about not being able to sand right there and it not sticking. i dont want to go through all this trouble and have to do it over. guess im just gona bite the bullet and pull the tires off to do it.

wont be the first time the Z has slept on jackstands

the paint stuck everywhere on the rim no problem, i just hit the outside lip with a scotch brite pad. Also the paint i used is made specifically for rims, so the paint just stuck where it was sprayed, no runs or anything, the clear also adhered to the paint really well, no runs with that either. I'll just have to wait and see how the paint holds up over time. The car isn't my daily driver either so it should hold up for awhile since i spent the far majority of my time prepping the wheels, the actual spraying only took a couple of hours from start to finish.
