Default Question about area prices

Okay this might have been covered before but is it just me or do these f-bodies go up in price because of the area they are sold in.
I keep seeing these posts that no one would pay more than 13000 for a trans am but in my area ALL trans ams are 13,000 up to 25,000 and the ones that are 13,000 have over 100,000 miles on them.
I live in Texas, there isn't a lot of rust and things are usually cheaper here but not these cars.
I'm selling my 2000 Z28 this weekend for 10,200 it has 64,000 miles on it and this guy that is buying it looked ALL over Oklahoma for an automatic Z28. He is driving over 5 hours to get it. Camaros are worth a lot less here.
Am I missing something though? Why are they so much more expensive around here than anywhere else?
*after I posted this I saw another post about the same thing but it still doesn't answer my question*

Supply and demand, cost of living, etc, etc...

I bought my car in Pa. because the exact same car would have demanded a $3-5K permium here in Northern California....to this day(over 2 years since purchase) I see F-bodies of all sorts with more mileage than mine currently has going for more than what I paid 2 years ago!

Alot of the folks who talk about getting these cars for low prices either A. Live in a less metropolitan area, etc.. B. Are buying higher mileage cars. C. Got a deal through a private party. And of course, D. Travel to get a deal.

People can ask what ever they want for F-bodies. Up here in Canada is nuts. Remember though, people are only willing to buy if the price is right. If it's to high, they won't bother. There are tonnes of ads in the Canada trader that have been there for months. I think the f-body market in Canada is VERY slow right now!

That's me. Flying out Saturday to pick up my new ride.

Everything I saw in my area was high miles, overpriced. My last LS1 was too far away to drive back. I had it shipped, and it was still a much better deal than if I had bought locally. You really do have to scour the country to get a good deal, or just get lucky.

Well the problem is right now is that I've already sold my car and now I have nothing to drive around and look with. I'm kind of stuck to my area.
There is a dealership here that seems to regulate the prices of ALL the f-bodies around here, he has a huge parking lot filled with very nice 99-02 trans ams and SS camaros and he gets them at an auction and sells them for totally insane prices. They fly off the lot as if they were priced at 1 buck each. I wish I knew what auction that he was getting them from.

Another thing to consider is there are fewer and fewer in stock form, so the number of them keeps going down which makes price go up b/c theirs more of a demand for them.

Its all about what it is worth to the buyer. The seller can ask anything he wants. That does not mean he will get it. Before the 00' SS I have now, I had a 97' SS 30th aniversery edition. White w/ Orange racing stripes the 30th aniversery leather seats the works convertable. I had about 50k miles on it one owner. I am at teh grocery store with my wife the guy says to me I will give you 22,500 for you car right now. I looked at him and said the car is yours. 1 hour later he was at my house with cash. I then inturn bought this 00' SS M6 loaded with some nice stuff on it 51k miles for 12,900 the next day. for me its all about Autotrader.com

Well to be honest i thought the guy was blowing smoke up my *** at first. He was driving an old beat up S-10. And on top of that who honestly tries to buy a car in korger parking lot? But he did come over an hour later with cash in hand. So i guess the saying you cant judge a book by its cover is true in this case.
