How would you blow 4k
Well I'm deployed right now and when I get back I get to blow some dough and ofcourse it will be thrown on my TA, currently it has a G5X1 cam, ls6 intake, QTP longtubs some shitty y pipe into a bullet cat back, sphon panhard bar and lower control arms, pro kit and thats pretty much it. I'm thinking of adding some boost with a turbo but know I need to keep it at a decent level with a stock block that has 40k on it right now. I know that a good set up will cost more than 4k so I'm still unsure about it. Or I would like to get a nice Head/Cam combo not sure wich one right now, underdrive pulley, port my TB, get relocation brackets for the control arms, UMI subframes, new shocks/struts - maybe Konis, not sure yet, maybe a new torque arm, and a nice spray kit. I would like to be at 450 to the ground NA. Well feel free to put any input on this, I have nothing but time to discuss a good set up. Thanks...

How about this.... you can get a complete Procharger kit (p1sc 7psi with every possible thing needed 530 crank hp on a stock motor) for around $5.5k
Walk into your bank ( Wachovia, etc) and tell them you want to do a signature loan for 6 grand. (They only do 5k+) You have 60 months to pay it off @ $120 per month with no pre-payment penalties.
Then take the 4 grand you had to start with and put that towards the principle of your loan right away. You now owe the bank only 2 grand and you still have 60 months to pay it off. You now have the 6 grand needed for your quality blower kit.
How 'bout that? I'd do it. You could die tomorrow, what's a measly 2 grand owed to the bank?
Oh yeah... thanks for your service. Proud of ya'.

hmmm firehawk, you make a good point about the bank idea and its really a good idea I actually have a few more $$ if need be but I would rather try not to blow to much. 530 at the crank, so what about 500 or so to the ground, hmm. Jersey you make a good point about investing and saving but I already have a little put away for savings and what fun would it be to own these cars if you couldnt have fun with them by moding them.

I vote forced induction.
If you add heads, you may gain up to 40 rwhp, but the torque really doesn't move much.
Add that blower and the torque will be right up there with the hp. Add a blower cam in addition to 7-9 #'s of boost you're looking at 500+ rwhp AND torque!
Get some large chamber (6.0 Escalade) heads and turn the boost up 3 more pounds... = 560+ rwhp and similar torque.
The sky's the limit. You'll be so glad you got "blown."

you got some good ones there firehawk. My rims are staying, I LOVE my rims, would like some engine bling, I have a set of Vette head covers that I would like to have done in a pimp TA design, the head light thing is pimp but I actually like my flaps, exhaust does need some help but changing my shitty y-pipe will help that...my y pipe is a mess, brakes are nice and I would like a nice set of some rotors and calapiers but Im more consernd with some other things first, Konis or Hals seem to be where I will be heading for shocks/struts, and a nice rear end is starting to seem a lot more important than I once thought, I would rather be safe then sorry. On that note, anyone got any advie on the Dana rears?? And as far as the blower thing, I think I'm pretty set on getting good H/C combo that with my other mods will hopefully get to the 450rwhp NA goal I have, then with a nice spray set up will give me 550 to the ground when I need it and as long as I dont abuse my motor it should last a good while, it currently has exatly 40k on it.
