Question About to buy 99 WS6 (New Question)

Hi there, I'm about to buy a 99 WS6 and was wondering did they come with a limited-slip differential? The owner put in a stock replacement one, hopefully he means stock for the WS6 so it still has 3.23's, but he didn't mention whether or not it was LS and serching here returned little results. The car is also an A4.
I'll try to get a picture of the door sticker so I can check the codes.

Thanks,
Paul

If it came with a v8 it came with a limited slip. This is a sports car not a truck. I think the RPO code is like GU8 or something like that. There is a post with all the RPO's in it search for it.

Ask him if it was a torsion, or auburn those were the two choices, though I think the auburn was an SLP option.

Excellent thanks. I'm pretty sure it's not the Auburn.

Another question. I decoded the VIN and the model came back as Formula, Trans Am. One of the RPO codes as well said Conversion Pontiac Firebird Formula. This car has WS6 badges and the WS6 RPO code, so does that mean it's one of the more rare Formula WS6's? Or do all WS6's have these markings associated with them due to similarities in the two cars?

Thanks,
Paul

The easiest way to tell is (if he hasn't done anything shady) to look at the rear wing and front end, if it has the tall wing and center fog lights, its a T/A WS6, if it has the corner fog lights and short deck wing, its the Formula. If I were you, I would be very happy to find a formula WS6, very rare! The main thing to look for are the codes.

Good luck on your purchase!
