Default need help with CAI >>>>>>>>>>

Removing the air deflector panel was a serious P-I-T-A!

I have the SLP CAI. The instructions say to not only trim the bottom air lid but ALSO, to trim the air deflector panel!?!?......

I would think the SLP stainless air duct would go in without the air deflector panel. I've already accidently ripped the top of the air deflector panel off while pulling it out!! I can't imagine putting it back in the bottom holes again! Do I still need to cut the plastic/rubber air baffle when installing a CAI?

I'm somewhat confused and would appreciate any help.

Thanks a bunch <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

You can put it together without the deflector panel.. but it's not that hard to do it right. biggest thing is do this in a well lit area and take your time. It get frustrating <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Not sure what you mean by baffle?

Do you have the instructions? http://www.slponline.com/inst/21033.pdf

I did mine a couple of weeks ago...here's my tip - take the three fasteners holding the lower facia off (just pull the center pins), then one bolt on either side in front of the wheels where the small grilles are. That whole piece then comes out and then the deflector is fully accessable, easy out and easy back in.

Try it you'll see what I mean.

Just take out the shrouds/deflectors. Both the top and bottom one are out with my Supersucker ram air kit.
