Default resonator????

i got a loud mouth exhaust and was curious.i love the way it sounds outside but want to kill some of the cabin sound.is there some kind of material i can shield the resonator from the bottom of the car?will that help?could always try to rap the resonator in header wrapp but that is a little to tacky for me !any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try some dynamat sound deading material on the inside of your car. You can find it at your local stereo shop.

Put a bullet in the crossover pipe. The pipe that goes over to the driver side exit.

Put a couple marks on the belly pan at each end of the resonator. Then drop it down. Get two 12"x12" pieces of self adhesive Dynamat and place them on the floor pan right above the resonator in between the two marks. You probably want to clean the surface real well with paint thinner or similar solvent that won't leave a residue. Then cover that with a 12"x24" sheet of Thermo Tec adhesive backed Aluminized Heat Barrier to protect the Dynamat. The key is to stop the sound before it gets into the floorpan which just acts like a big speaker cone. I'm not sure this will work but I'm getting ready to install a Loudmouth on my car and after reading all these posts about the Loudmouth this is what I'm going to do. Let me know how it works because I wont experience a before and after because I'm doing it during initial install. Good Luck!

i just installed the lm on my '98 WS6, and yea you can notice it in the cabin, but i don't think its too bad. of course thats cuz i'm still trying to kill the sound of my damn speakers rattling my stamped metal panels to all hell....lol could be hiding the lm right now ;-) imho its not that bad, but i like knowing the lm is there....haven't done any serious highway driving tho, we'll see what happens after i do a two hour to dallas this weekend lol...

Just cut off the resonator and replace it with either a dynomax bullet muffler or a Borla XR1 race round muffer.
