I'm in columbia about an hour east on the cumberland parkway. If you are near bowling green, the somernites cruise next month is having a power cruise and one of the groups is coming from BG to somerset. If interested check out the somernites cruise site http://www.somernitescruise.com/ That should be pretty cool.

Bowtie_Z28
09-11-2006, 08:13 AM
Drag racing will be an non-corvette museum event as there was a big fallout between the owner (Dallas) of the track and museum so anybody wanting to race drag wise will need to attend the regularlly secheduled Test & Tune night Friday. I think the gates open at 6 but it might be 7. As for tech last year there was none.

Dragman
09-11-2006, 12:07 PM
when did this fallout happen??

Bowtie_Z28
09-11-2006, 12:14 PM
Just in the past few months. Dallas basically didn't want to open up his track for the museum because he wasn't really making any profit from it, well at least not enough for his liking and there were some disputes between him and the museum about a few other things as well from what I understand.

Dragman
09-11-2006, 07:16 PM
Hard to believe! He charges $2500 for 4 hrs and not making any profit + consession.

There was only about 15 cars that ran last year so it probly wasn't worth his time. I went and I know I was really dissappointed. Honestly the whole event sucked for the money you had to pay. to see at best 60 cars.

There wouldn't very many cars last year because of hurricane Rita. It cleared up Friday afternoon though and there were around 150 there saturday maybe more the parking lot was full.

Awesome... I live umm, in Bowling Green, so I have to be there. Hangouts are at the Sonic on Campbell Ln., Trees N Trends on Campbell Ln. (used to be at the car wash on Scottsville, but no one is allowed to park there now. Trees N Trends is right across the street from the car wash so we migrated there. Cops said that was ok.) Autozone on 31-W bypass, and the Marriott hotel where most of you are probably staying, right off of Scottsville Rd. behind Steak & Shake. There's also a Sonic on Nashville Rd., which happens to be about 1/4 mile from my house.
I'm looking forward to getting to meet everyone, this is my first year at the Invasion with my own F-Body.

My wife and I will be there this weekend. We rented a room at the Country Hearth Hotel(hotel next door to muesem) for cheap.

I bought 2 T shirts on Friday afternoon at 4:30. I think that you are the one that told me that they were out of shirts right before I bought mine. I bought a 2X for me and a large for my GF. After you wash them and throw them in the dryer on high they drop 2 sizes and fit perfect. I always buy 2X and they fit me good. I saw T shirts for sale up until I left on Saturday afternoon @ 5. The party on Friday night in the motel parking lot at the motel right beside the musem was worth the trip. About 100+ people and the lot was completely full of car with cars parked on the street too. :chug:
