Default Installing TC

Do i need to put in oil into the TC?? Is so how much?

No. I build and r&r transmissions for a living and own my a trans shop with my brother, and we start all of our rebuilt trans with no fluid in the convertor. Never had a problem. Just check the fluid level afterwards.

I have always added around 1/2 a quart and then installed it. If you add much more that that it just pours out into the transmission or on you.

We recommend 1/2 to 1 full quart in every tc. By accident I have dry fired a tc on our dyno and I did make noise for about 15-20 seconds until the tc started to fill. I'm thinking this can't be good!! Putting some oil in it just gives it some lube and can't hurt.

There was Oil in there still, just not sure how much. I will have to find out when i get the engine all wired up. Just installed it today in my 89 camaro. Hard work. Just didnt want to take the tranny off again. Thanks guys
