Default anyone blow up your LS1 motor w/ to much HP

I was reading on corvette forum and I guy was asking how much power the LS1/6 can take before something lets loose.

Im curious and figure the F bodys mod more that C5er

If your motor blew, that mods did you have, and what part went loose on your motor, and importantly how were you driving it at the time.

details, details, details.
When this post starts to develop, Ill link it over to CorvetteForum

Blew the number 7 piston out of the side of my block my first time at the track with a new motor (stock cubes, 3x Heads and cam) all nitrous and no fuel will do that I guess (fuel solenoid stuck shut, or nitrous solenoid stuck open). Oh well live and learn I guess, now I got one hell of a setup thanks to Cartek.

Most people you will find on here blew their motor by spinning it too high or detonation from a bad tune etc... There's a lot of DIY's setting there rev limiters at 7k and tuning their own cars (having to learn the hard way).

Rule of thumb from the guys that have no issues with tuning etc... is it will hold at around 500 rwhp without any problems but this is pretty much the safe limit. Guys that get the centrifigul superchargers running over 550 rwhp know they are going to replace the motor sooner than later.

took the one in the wife's car out from a loss of oil pressure. #1 rod broke in two pieces and out the oil pan. some have seen the video. topping second gear at the track. broke just before the 1/8 mile mark. got a really cool avatar out of it.

heads, cam, most bolt ons, 150 n2o making a total of 481 rwhp.

from the track rental on the 21st

valves kissed the piston

crank smacked the bottom of the skirt

look at the far right outside edge of the head across from the spark plug. the piston hit the head so hard, it pushed the head material outward. you'll see the bump.

The C5R blocks start distorting at around 850hp and it gets worse after that. I haven't seen a C5R block live for more than a couple passes at 1600hp.

How can a loss of oil pressure be caused by stupidity unless you knew the oil pump was going out. It seems to me that a loss of oil pressure could happen to anyone.
