Make a LS1 style intake manifold for our cars? I don't think it would be that hard with current technology. It would probably increase horsepower a good bit and move the power band up some.

why would one make one?
the lt1 is no longer in use.
the stock intake is pretty good as is.
why put the $$ and tiem and R&D into it when the market is way better for ls1 stuff.
theres more $$ to be made in ls1 parts.

Very few LT1 owners would pay that kinda money for one, most Lt1s now are budget built cars, dont see many people wanting to pay $900 for Intake. A lot of LT1 guys go over the Single Planes also

this is true, just look at a lot of the FI guys that are running custom set ups and are into the single digits, they're on single planes running DFI if i understand everything correctly and are making outrageous power

Dont see how a company couldnt produce a composite intake for LTX cars based on LSX intake for the price of an LSX intake??

They could build a composite one, but it wouldn't look like the lsx with the long runners cause of the port pattern, they could just make a plain jane ltx intake with some bigger runners and make it out of plastic, but it won't ever look like an lsx intake.

they didnt have a better motor come after the 5.0 like the ls1 came afte rthe lt1. i think that is one reason the 5.0 market stayed a bit stronger

I totally agree. It wouldn't look like the LSX, but it would have to perform better than the stock LT1. Even if most people go with the single plane. Just give us more options please. At least I got the LT4 before production was stopped.

I dont see a profit to be made by making a LT1 intake. LSx motors have been in since 98 and are still being used and alot of parts are interchangable in the LSx familly. LT1 days are done as far as new great stuff coming out. I think they will be few and far between. just my opinion.

SBF stuff is like SBC stuff far as a new parts, theres a huge racing base that pushes for new parts. A lot of it can be used on a LT1. If I was to build a race car, I think I would ditch the Lt1 prety quick and go to a Dart SBC

True, thats the big thing though, not a whole lot of new money comming in to the LT1 scence either, most the guys doing these killer build, have had LT1s before and have some vested intrest from previous cars or have had that said car since new or close to it. Big Rick for example got that thing new when he was in High School. Ryan on here had his from right when he got out of school, I have had mine since I turned 16. I still think their capable platforms for street cars when it comes down to a power adder set up.

that is very true, Who knows maybe we will see some day a composite LTX intake, although I probably wouldnt buy it, I would much rather have a ported out aluminum one than a plastic one.

i've thought about this before and i have to agree, it would be badass to have, but i seriously doubt it will ever happen. unless all of a sudden there's a huge boom in ltx sales and racing, i don't think its worth it. the runners would have to be different too. and witht the port design different in lt1 and lt4 heads that everyone uses, you'd need 2 completely different intakes, not a single one that works on everything like an lsx engine
