Default smoke from oil cap?

I dont know if this is bad or normal, but I installed a breather a week ago and it has smoke coming out of it with engine running, not staining my hood very much but it intensifies with rpm, why/

am I in for trouble?

Are you running a PCV as well? If you are running a PCV as well, this is indicative of excess blowby, if you are NOT running a PCV and just traight breathers, its normal, its just an avg. amount of blowby, all cars have it.

I run a breather and it smokes. It tends to slow down after the engine is warm, but it still does, whether its hot or cold out.

When you install a valve cover breather your evacuation system is no longer sealed so the PCV will not work correctly and you will see smoke from the breather.

NO, you will suck air through the motor, it will go in the breather and out the PCV into the intake. If you are blowing smoke OUT the breather then you have more blowby than the PCV can handle. I took a look at mine today, (breather in one, PCV in the other) and saw no smoke, nor is the breather medium oily or the hood/strut brace directly above it.
