Default Loss of a/c questions

I know when using the truck manifold setup that I will loose the a/c. To clear some things up for me, is this the loss of a/c only? Will heat remain, or will I be able to use defrost? I am mainly concerned with defrost since I live in fla and the windows like to fog up here and there.

The heat will still work, but your defrost will not work as well, as the A/C compressor runs to remove moisture while in defrost mode. But warm air will still come out of the defrost vents.

In the south you will have some problem defrosting in the humidity. I have no A/C right now....and carry a towell in the car.
