Default Speed inc stage 3/ yank pt4000 trashed

My trans is currently at FLT getting a stage V rebuild. Today Yank called and told me my clutch in the converter is burnt up. I need some help deciding what to do. I will prob. be around 500rwhp with the new motor.

408ci -248/253 110lsa
afr 225s
etc....
3.42 rear gear

What stall should I go with?

Lower stall, same stall? Go with a $400 fuddle? Let's see what you guys have to say.....

Oh and I had about 360rwhp 380 tq daily driven. The trans/stall lasted 17k miles.

only fuddle i recomend is the upgraded mid stage one. the cheapy fuddle is not appropriate for your setup.

i like the 4000 fuddle HP street one ( i think thats what its called) or the yank ss4000 for ya

What happened and how many track passes? Did the trans go out and take the converter? Curious because I have a similar setup> LS2 402, FLT IV, Yank PT4000, Strange 12-bolt w/3.73's. So far it's been great. IMO I would stick with Yank.

Crap I have the exact same trans. What went wrong? I wonder if there's any kind of precaution I can take to prevent this sort of thing. BTW, I'm putting down similar numbers.

heh actually it never went....My motor went and I decided to just send both converter/ trans out to have rebuilt. Everything worked pretty good. FLT would have to tell you what was wrong with the trans. It was pretty beat up. And the converter just had a burnt clutch. Later guys. Oh and FLT didn't build the speed inc transmission. Must have been some other company ls1speed was having build for them a while back.

Oh and I haven't got to run the setup in my sig yet phenyx. Just waiting on my trans and tc. I think i'll stick with the pt4000 and have some fun with it....Later guys.

And to speeddy. Don't worry about your trans. I doubt yours and mine were built by the same company.

Matt, my trans was built by Dr Evil transmission, I have the max evil stage 3. I purchased it in November of 04 and didn't drive the car until spring of 05 (winter storage).

Mine is prob. close to 2 years old. It didn't even have a shift kit. Basically just the vacuum mod.

But Speed Inc has fixed this problem now by using FLT to build there transmissions. Good move imo.
