Default '99 Cobra

I ran into one at a light tonight. I was talking to the guy (with his girl in the car ), I told him I liked his car and asked what year it was, and what was done to it. He replied its a 99' M6 Cobra, just exhaust, and said that he usually eats those (meaning my car) and asked me how it ran. Well the light was going to turn soon so I put it in first and foot-braked it until about 1200rpms or so. It turned green, I spun through first and proceeded to put it into D, spun a little more and caught. I put about a car and a half on him up until about 75mph when he came up on my side fast. He put about a car on me and didnt pull anymore, we stopped at around 95mph where we stopped at another light. This time the same thing happened except I kept ~1 car length on him until he started to pull toward my door and we stopped around 100. On the first run when he was at my window his car sounded loud as f*ck, essentially like an open cut-out. He seemed like a nice guy, and gave me a thumbs up as he turned off onto a side street. I didn't think the '99 Cobras were very fast (i.e. mid 14s stock). Anyone think he might have had other bolt-ons/gears? Or is that what I should have expected? Oh and the only other car I raced was my buddies 1999 Z28, M6, with borla cat-back. From a 50mph roll he pulled ~1.5 cars pretty quick but I caught up until I was at his bumper and pretty much held there until we stopped at 10x. Thats why I was a little confused on whether he has other mods or not. thanks guys

The internet ownz joo because you double postered. It's not really that hard to hook on the street once you get the hang of it. Most guys do small suspension mods to take care of the wheel hop. 99 is a funny year IMHO. Some ran sweet times some sucked. I call it the Cobra turd year because if it didnt get "The Fix" it made less horse power than a stock LT1.

Only 03+ Cobras have Eaton blowers on them. The 99's just blowed.
