Unless something has changed the D1 is not legal in Cali. The P1 is.

The D-1SC is not 50 state legal, the P-1SC is though. Bob

What's the difference between the D1 and P1? I'm guessing the P1 is cheaper right? I just read that the D1 is better, but don't know why.

The P-1SC and the D-1SC both use the same housing, but the D-1SC has beefed up internals that can make a lot more boost. If you ran both of these blowers at 8 psi of boost, the D-1SC would not need as small of a pulley to make 8 psi. Since it wouldn't have to spin as fast, it will stay cooler as well.
The P-1SC is 50 state legal though, where the D-1SC won't make it in California. Bob

Can't you slap on a P1SC data plate onto the D1SC and call it a day
(This would only be for informational/knowledge purposes only).

You would have to purchase a blower to do that. Serial plates are not available seperately.

^hahaha.

Why is the D1 not legal? Because it works better at making more exhaust?

Because the D1SC is not sold with a tune, so the state of tune can't be certified emmisions legal.

I just say the news today and they said if you have any illegal parts then they can tow your car.
that is true.... its been a law for many years.
very vauge but its more of an umbrella law.

ANY aftermarket modifacation on ANY vehicle that isnt FACTORY, is ILLEGAL!
and they CAN impound.

carb. number or not.

it sucks, but my sheriff friend said that they dont check very often.....
unless your racing/driving like an *** or **** them off, etc.
