crane cams is the manufacturer, go to your local chevy dealer and get it, thats what the GM is GM847 is General motors and the last 3 digits in the part number...
GM part number 12370847

Dur @ .050 = 232/242*
Lift with 1.5's = .539/.558"
Lift with 1.6's = .575/.595"
LSA = 112*

easy, what ever your lift is divide by 1.5, times 1.6

So like the 847 is .539 / 1.5 X 1.6 = .57499999, or .575

the only thing that would make me think twice about driving mine is the cost for gas.

I drive mine every single day, and I don't think its bad at all. I heard the horror stories about it and I don't know what everyones problem was with it. Then again, Im used to some of my friends big big cams. Gas isn't that bad if you keep your foot out of it. But hit it alot and youll be at the pump alot.

I have TC and Ive been kinnda tuning on it myself, I think however I may break down and have it tuned. as far as gas milage goes, on the highway its great still. 20+.... Around town is another thing, I havn't master the technique of easy off the line. I have gotten better since the gas spike, and Im doing alot better, but Im sure it would be could be better, but damn its fun to drive. So I have no idea around town.

:EDIT:

I was curious to see what I was getting, and its about 17 total, I got to work around 530am so not alot of traffic and I don't have to stop much, plus I drive I95 atleast 1-2 times a week for around 50-70 miles. So around town I think if I drove nice would be 15 mabey? FAR cry from when my car was stock, but its still running rich, and like I said before I like to get on it alot. It could be better. But hey it is a big cam

Ditto, I personally think this cam is great for me & a 6 speed with 4.10's.. Not hard to drive as a dd and pulls very very well, now if i can get some heads to go on top of it i'll be set.

I have the 847, pulls extremely hard, I'm very satisfied with it. I haven't been daily driving it recently but at the same time i could and it would be fine. just get ready to become very familiar with you local gas station attendants!
