I was thinking of SLP long tune headers, with dual cut-outs after the headers, and 2.5in tubing striat to the back. going 2.5in because 3" would be too much. Intake consists of Whisper lid, cold-air intake, 85mm MAF sensor, all from SLP. Soon a B&K throttle body.
What do you guys think? should I go true dual exhaust, or stay with a Y-Pipe?

True duals is the ultimate exhaust. No setup out there makes more power. You're obviously not worried about being loud since you plan on running dual cutouts. Dumped before the axle, duals is as loud as the setup you're wanting, all the time.

I have duals, my 3rd exhaust setup, and I'd never want anything else.

What mufflers do you guys like to use to tone these duals down from being so loud?

You can use Pro Flo Twister mufflers to quiet it down a little bit.
With true duals and "bullet" style mufflers, there's only so quiet you can go. It's gonna be sorta loud no matter what. That's juts the nature of the system.

Is it better to run the true duals out of an X-pipe or straight back, if possible? Who makes X-pipes for our cars?

Look in my webshots, of my car, in the sig. I have a pic of my true duals. That was with the bullet muflers. I now run the Eldebrock RPM muflers, which are more compact. I love them.
