Default Hooker Cat-Back Any Good??

I just ordered the hooker cat-back for my TA. Does anyone have any sound clips or pics of what it sounds like/looks like on a TA? How much RWHP on average does it give? Any help would be great!!

I think that it sounds awesome. It was the first mod I did to my TA along with a y-pip with cats and it sounded awesome. I now have Hooker Shorty's also. I think it's one of the best sounding exhaust systems for the LS1. I would make you a sound clip but my car is "under construction".

I like my Hooker catback alot. It sounds like a classic V8, very throaty but no rasp or drone. It'll give you about 10rwhp which is about what all catbacks will do.

I paid $319 for the cat-back. It's got a 3 inch I-pipe with 2 1/2 inch tips. The chrome tips look decent but i would rather have the corsa anyday. I can't put it on till this weekend but i'll let ya know then. From the one sound clip I have heard it sounds alot better than flowmaster or borla, IMO.

I loved my Hooker catback from the day I put it on! If you ever decide to go the headers route she will scream!

I love my Hooker cat-back. Excellent sounds.
However, it's already rusting (1 year old) .
The tips suck too, but a pair of Fast Toys tips solved that .

hey slow ta.....how much did you pay for it and tell me how it sounds....is it a 3"?.......I'm considering putting that catback on my Z...i currently have flowmaster but would like to make it louder as in higher pitched sort of like borla but not that restrictive like my flowmaster......I think Hooker is the way to go.....I have a cutout too but the sound with the flowmaster is just too deep....sort of sounds like a truck at times......

I love my Hooker cat-back. I took a Magnaflow off to put the Hooker on - it was a nice (and cheaper) upgrade.

It sounds good with the supercharger too!

i just installed mine...its OK ...a decent pickup ..probably about 10hp...

...sound is OK a little more noise than stock ..somewhat deeper sound...

all-in-all, it is a good price to value product...

I bought it becasue I'm cheap and refuse to pay over $600 for a fancy muffler that some marketing boob renamed a "cat back exhasut system" so they could charge a ton of dough for it...

I love the sound of mine alot, the fitment was a PITA though, on mine it came with the pipes exiting the muffler to long on both sides so these had to be shortened quite a bit, I then had a rattle due to the rear passenger side hanger. The way the hooker bolted to the hanger it would bounce and hit the metal part of the hanger when going over bumps or when the car was idling. I was able to fix these issues by shortening the pipes and by making a makeshift rubber bumpstop for the hanger but still this stuff kinda sucked. On the bright side I get comments all the time on how good it sounds and it does look good as well. No drone on the inside and it is loud enough to sound mean on the outside. Very tuned sounding as well. If I had to do it again I would probably get the Magnaflow and try to put different tips on it but all in all for the price you can't beat the hooker. Also I hear stainless tips are being send with these now so you wont have to worry about polishing them to keep them from rusting.

I just got one to replace my flowmaster catback and I dont like it. It's just to quit for me. I will be putting my flowmaster back on soon. It may not flow as good but the sounds is going to be hard to beat.

Just put it on and its alot quieter then expected. Fitment is pretty good other then I had to trim down the passenger side tip. Doesn't rattle at all thank god. Nothing annoys me more than pipes banging against the frame. Is it like other exhausts that it will get a little louder over the next few days?

About how long does it take for the muffler to "break in" and get louder? Few days or so?

I love my Hooker cat-back. Sounds bitchin. HATE the tips (they've already rutsed after 9 months). However, its almost too loud for me with my Hooker LTS/ORP.

I'm thinking of getting the hooker cat back. Right now, I have hooker LT's, hooker ORY, and loudmouth. The loudmouth sounds like **** with the headers, so hopefully the hooker will calm it down a little bit.
