Default question??? 12.1

I ran 12.1 on a stock trans and convertor for the longest, consitantly. My 60ft's were 1.8. Then the trans finally broke. OK. I had it rebuilt stronger and added a 3600 stall. That alone would make be break the into the 11's. But im actually a bit slower now. 12.3-12.4 range now. I think it has to do with my tires and gear. B/c i added a set of draglites after the trans rebuild. Im running a 26' tall tire in rear. Im thinking my gears are screwing with me. I was told by the previous owner it had 3.42's. But now im thinking I have 2.73's. Thats the only thing it could be. If anybody else has any ideas let me know.

Did your mph go down? What size tires did you have before you added the draglightes? Weather also has a huge affect on your ET. Depending on when you ran your 12.1 if it was in the winter I'd say you loss came from higher temps.

To find your gear ratio jack up the rear of the car and put a mark on the inside of your tire and a mark on your driveshaft. While in neutral rotate the tire and count how many times your driveshaft turns. It's gonna either turn 3.42 revolutions or 2.73.

my mph went up on the slow times. and old tires were stock 16' rims with 245/55/16's ran the 12.1's The temp was only a few degrees off either way it was hot both days. Humdity was the same way. But i dont know what to think b/c tonight i ran it again and ran a 11.87@114.95mph. Considering my old best 12.1@117.42mph. Its screwy.

I"m gonna chalk that up to traction. Going from 12.1 to 11.8 with a lower mph indicates a better 60ft. Typically the better the 60ft the lower the mph..... unless more hp is added. But good runs. -Mark
