There is no point to put a brake on a 60e. Too much stress on an already weak trans. It would shorten life imensely.

A transbrake basically makes an auto car launch with high rpm's like manual cars do. You have a red button on the shifter that you hold in to rev the engine to what you want it to launch at and when you release the button the car launches at whatever the rpm's are when you let the button go.
Tried to describe in noob terms .

OMG....
Transbrake locks reverse and 1st together, via holding a momentary button to activate a solenoid mounted on the valvebody to reroute fluid internally, once button is released the R is returned to static and you launch violently. A TB will only allow the car to be rev'd up to the stall speed. If you want consistency use a two step in conjunction with TB.

Funny thing is, there are some 4L60E's running around with transbrakes already and they havent popped yet. How long will they hold, I dunno, but they held for more than anyone thought before, which is to say it wouldnt. Kind of reminds me of the whole arguement about STS kits not making any power cuz they are mounted so far away from the header....hmm...I do believe koolrayz has a Rossler built 4L60E w/ Brake and IIRC there are a couple others. Rossler is the only company to my knowledge that has successfully got the TB to work, and on top of that Carl patented it for all the E series transmissions, 4L80E, etc..
