How to do the AC delete mod
Are there any good writeups or walk throughs on how to delete the AC from out LT1's? I know I need to get the AC delete pully but how do you take out the compressor and everything else?
For some reason the search function is not working.
Thanks

Bleed the system with the little bleed near the Canister. Disconnect the Pressure Sensor on the AC line near the Computer, unplug the connection in back of the Compressor. Disconnect all the lines, unbolt the Compressor(3 bolts on the front, 1 in the back), remove the plastic cover above the Radiator, take out the AC Condensor. Take out the AC Canister, cut out that bracket if you want to, disconnect the 2 lines from the Firewall, and plug them. With mine, I actually removed some of the stuff from inside of the Firewall, and sealed in a piece of Aluminum to plug the hole. You computer might throw codes, mine didn't. There are 6 codes it should throw.

Is the delete pulley needed? I saw that they offered this for the 3rd gens as well, but on my 91 TA that I had I did the AC / Smog delete and just got a shorter belt and 3" idler pulley and used a different belt routing. This way I had a brand new belt, tensioner, and deleted all that stuff for $40 or so total. I'm assuming on the lt1 the water pump pulley is what would be the problem in doing that? I'd have to look.

Ah I see now ... didn't look too closely the first time. I did the AC delete mod today as well ... just need to get the pulley. Do you still leave both fans in the car? I'm assuming the secondary fan only kicks on when the AC is working right?
