Any of You spinning YOur motors over 6500rpm with stock rod bolts ?

Depends on the year of the vehicle. Earlier rod bolts aren't as strong, supposedly. Since I have a '98 I am only spinning to 6500 rpm for now.

I forget what year the 'newer and stronger' rod bolts came out, but people with them are more likely to spin as high as 6700-6800.

Edit: Pretty sure it was 2000....

I shifted there in 2001 and 2002....not now with a 99.

Rod bolt revision was mid year 2000. Its a crap shoot wether or not you got them with a 2000. I have a 2002 and shift at 6600 with a 6800 revlimit. I wouldnt think twice about extending it another 200 rpms either.

I spin and shift mine at 65-6600... but my rev is set at 6800.

I just swapped out the rod bolts in my '98 motor last night. Only 6 of the bolts had ferrules...the rest had a thicker shank with a spiral patern. I thought that was kinda weird.

that is kinda weird,mine were all the same when i swapped to the katechs
