Good God! MACs w/ ORP + LM = RASP!!!
I would never have believed how loud, obnoxious, and ear piercing this combo would be!
So, I ordered this: Item# = 289-24219
Description = Dynomax Magnum Race Bullet Mufflers 3'' In/Out, 18'' Long
to put in place of the resonator that comes with the Loudmouth system.
Can I just clamp this on? Or does it have to be welded?
Thanks!

Dude, tell me about it! That is the most awful sounding combination possible. It is unbearable I think the bullet muffler will help somewhat, but it's still gonna be bad. I would weld 2 bullet mufflers in the Y pipe and/or get a different catback

Yeah, I love LOUD exhaust, but I dread even touching the gas pedal for fear of hitting the aweful 2200-2800 rpm range....
Although, I do have to say it was funny as hell when the lady holding a cup of coffee in one hand while driving on the highway next to me nearly spilled it all over helself when I hit my gas! She must have thought her engine exploded or something! The look on her face was priceless!
It seems like the "longer" bullet muffler that I ordered will help quite a bit according to others that have the same setup... I hope....

Re: Good God! MACs w/ ORP + LM = RASP!!!
I just checked Summits website and the 24219 is 23 inches long, isn't it? I to need to swap out the resonator in my LM. I can't see spending $180 for the Borla XR1. The Borla is a 5 inch case and the dynomax is a 4 inch case so theres more clearance with the dynomax. I am running Grott headers, 3 inch y-pipe, no cats, and LM exhaust. I define the word RASP. AND thats not funny! I would like to swap to the Hooker catback but I don't want to drop that kind of cash right now. Will a single dynomax bullet really help that much or will we need more?

I welded a Flowmaster Race muffler (single chamber) on each side of the y-pipe and the rasp is history. Also have the bullet where the resonator was. Sounds deep and nasty with no rasp. I do get quite a bit of popping on deceleratio though, but I think it makes it sound more exotic

Re: Good God! MACs w/ ORP + LM = RASP!!!
i say, get the longest bullet you can fit on the I-pipe (that dynomax makes though)
It's hola better than the LM's so called expansion pack
btw, i heard a TA with MAC's/ORP/dynomouth(loudmouth with bullet)
and it sounded SWEET!!

Re: Good God! MACs w/ ORP + LM = RASP!!!
I am going to pull off my Loudmouth and throw it on my WS6 since it still has its cats. I think I am going to buy a SLP dual dual for the SS and have a QTP cut-out installed, but also a short bullet muffler in the intermediate pipe right before the cut-out. That way I can cruise with the DD and be somewhat tame then when the time is right hit the switch and be LOUD!!!! Grotts, Or pipe, cutout....hmm sounds loud to me!

Re: Good God! MACs w/ ORP + LM = RASP!!!
I have the MAC's and ORY with the dual/dual on my Firehawk right now. They were just installed a couple weeks ago and I only drove it fromn the trailer back to the garage (too much salt on the roads here in the big mitten). I did not notice it being raspy at all. In fact, I had originally planned on doing bullets in the y-pipe but I don't even think that is going to be necessary. It is still pretty quiet - just like I like it (going for stealth power).
