Default SLP MAF & HPP3

I just ordered an LS6 intake from SLP and was planning to order a 85mm MAF to go with it, but was stopped from doing so my SLP sales rep. He told me not to do so if using a Hypertech Power Programmer because most of the vehicle will throw codes. There seems to be a problem with the combo and SLP themselves has no clue as to why it is happening. Is there anyone reading this that has this combo and has or hasn't had any problems? I'd be interested in seeing what the general concencious on this is. Any feedback would be welcomed.
Thanks In Advance!

Yes, this is actually a well known situation already.
It is well known that the two don't mix well, in fact ANY aftermarket MAF along with the HPP usually won't work well.
Also of note is that even when used individually the HPP's 'power tuning' does not always respond well and the same goes for some aftermarket MAFs (GMAF, SLP etc.) as well.
I use a HPP with a stock descreened MAF and NO power tuning (only shift points, fan settings and rev limit settings) and it works fine.

I'm using the SLP MAF and HPP3 and have had no troubles whatsoever. I've used the HPP3 both with and without the power tuning and have had no codes thrown..guess i'm just lucky then. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I'm not talking codes, I'm talking about detonation, knock/timing retard, slower track times etc.
Are you sure you're not getting any of that? Have you Atapped it?

I was about to order an SLP MAF as well and I was told by the representative that dyno tuning would wipe out the calibration of the MAF.
