anyone on here with an sts kit
the word STS
theres plenty. And i agree, $5K is a good setup. check out trtturbo.com for their packages. i believe their full upgraded turbo packages are complete for under $7500 out the door.

I suppose it really depends on what supporting mods you do. My tranny was dying so tack on that as a cost, i did LS6 cam swap, heads, valvtrain, etc. Also depends on the tune and tuner. Use the search function, but also as said above, look at trt and that should give you a good idea.

I think you can get into a really nice kit with some nice goodies and a cam for about 6k. Then install yourself, pay for a tune, in for 7k ish. This will limit you to 400-500 rwhp and you may be borrowed time on your rear depending how you drive

You said doing it "right"...not just slapping a STS kit on there.
You also said running it at 9psi.

i think With the complete packages now for the STS with FMICs and tons of other upgrades... the rear mounts will end up cheaper than most log style front mounts and still perform as well as a log set up. The numbers of the Rear Mount STS kits are right up there pushing 500 ish rwhp on 8 psi with m6. For the combo's now available from TRT, i dont think you can beat it

i think if your shooting for a high hp race car, no way rear mount should be what your looking for. However, if your looking for a good kit on stock block, or mild setup for forged bottom end, i dont think you can beat an STS's price and performance for that application. Big HP and race car is another story.

Got the STS kit for $3.5 (w/injectors & boost gauge and optional GT67 turbo), already had CC918 springs and hardened pushrods from my cam....and still aded enough crap to equal approx $7K. This included in-tank fuel pump and wiring, wideband O2, FMIC, fuel regulator and line upgrades, custom welding if the exhaust, tuning, plugs, + 8 million minor misc things that suck $$.

The car is reliable as hell and put down 426RWHP / 436RWTQ (SAE) at only 5PSI. Still hae more power left as I haven't installed all the fuel system upgrades.
