what's this buzzing noise coming from the rear?

what's this buzzing noise coming from the rear? there is this buzzing noise that sounds like a mosquito that is coming from the rear part of the car....almost right below the driver side...I can hear it especially while next to a parked car because the sound bounces off the car....but I don't know what it could be?...it does it every once in a while especially when the car has been on for a while..it comes and goes............what could it be?...
