Does anybody else have this noise??
It seems to have started after I installed my Hooker longtubes, ORP, and loudmouth. It is coming from the back of the car. I think it may be in where the trunk closes. It is a rattling, and shaking type noise.. that sounds like metal. It is pretty loud. My exhaust is really loud (obviously), and a lot of times I hear it over my exhaust. Also it gets worse as I get up in the RPM's so I am thinking that the exhaust rattled something loose.
Let me know if you guys have heard or experienced this problem.
Thanks

Re: Does anybody else have this noise??
I have the rattling noise too, right after I installed my loudmouth. I thought it was the exhaust, so I tightented the clamps, but to no avail. However, mine goes away (or I can't hear it) at high RPM's, so I'm not sure if ours has the same problem. I'm thinking that the piping is vibrating against the heat shields at some point below the rear seats, or possibly above the axle. Here's what I suggest: I am jacking my car up, putting it on stands, removing the rear wheels, and starting it. I'm going to check every inch of that damn pipe until I find what the problem is....I hate rattles, so I suggest you do the same.

My I-pipe was buzzing the gas tank heat shield
after Y-pipe install, there are a lot of close
pieces of metal back there and any motor mount
flex can put you into contact. Anything that's
less than 1/2" away from the pipe must be a
suspect. You probably have to adjust the Y-
and I-pipe and retighten in the "all quiet"
position.

MIKE, I had the same problem on my '02 Z with the Loudmouth. It was the pipe over the axle vibrating on the fuel tank heat shield. Went under that and wrapped it with exhaust wrap around the bend in the pipe. Result= Problem solved! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Did your problem sound like it was in the car?
