I have to get a bullet for my LM too. I don't know if any sponsors carry them but Summit Racing has them for about $35.00 and there are two different lengths: 16 inch and 23 inch I think. Look at it this way, say you spend the $35 for the muffler and another $20-$30 to have it put on and you like the way it sounds, well it only cost you about $50.00 as opposed to at least $280 for another catback, and if you don't like it and should sell it, it will be more desirable to the buyer because it already has a bullet in it.

I bought an 18" bullet muffler from JEG's and it wouldn't fit on my loudmouth in place or the resonator without hitting the floorpan (too long). so I returned it and bought a Borla Sportsman XR1 Bullet muffler It fit perfectly (about 16 inches long) and the sound quality is great. It costs a lot, but it is also stainless steel like the LoudMouth and therefore should last the lifetime of my car

Whether you go with the Borla or dynomax bullet to replace the resonator, I highly recommend the mod. Very effective

The long (18") bullet fits in place of the resonator, I have it on my LM. I just had to cut the extra 3" pipe off on either side of the actual muffler part and it fit fine. They give you 3-4inches of pipe to work with on either side of the muffler and I guess if you tried to weld up the long Bullet with them on it might not fit. Either one will fit, but the 12" would probably fit without cutting the extra pipe off.

the bullit DOES fit, I have one on my car. I have the 16". my buddy also has a bullit on his LM, he loves it and so do I. I there is not much of an exhaust note change from mine to his (I have factory pipe with custom duals) his might be a lil lower pitch cuz it is a little bit bigger pipe. u'll love it, trust me.

I just had two little baby flowmasters welded in today on my loudmouth. I left the resinater, and the muffs welded into each pipe behind the rear end. It sounds really throaty and eliminated MOST of the rasp. Next, all I have to do is swap the resinator for some 3" pipe. What I did is kinda expensive, but it sounds really good.

Without cutting the (longish) ends on the 18" Dynomax bullet muffler, part of the elbow of the existing Loudmouth piping would have had to be cut, creating the clearance issues. I guess I never thought of trimming the flanges of the muffler a bit to make it work From the posts that I read on the subject, I don't recall anyone mentioning that some trimming of the muffler may be needed

Anyway, as I posted earlier, whether you go with a Borla or a Dynomax, it is a worthwhile mod In retrospect, I'm still happy I went with the Borla - it has a great sound, flows well (you can pretty much look right through it, with just a splitter blade in the pipe to break up sound waves), and because it is stainless steel, it will last the lifetime of my car

Good luck!

Since I went with a Borla muffler, I went with some Borla ProXS polished stainless steel Oval exhaust tips They are 3.5"H x 4.25"W with a slash cut and rolled edges. I don't have any pics of them on my car yet, but here's a link to a pic:

ProXS Tips

The one that I went with is the one on the far left. I love 'em!

Did you guys experience any gains or losses in HP and TQ when you replaced the resonator in the LM with the dynomax or borla bullets?

Raven99 how was it hitting the floorpan? and by the way i have all the loudmouth piping with a dynomax bullet for the i-pipe and some wierd dual/dual angled upwards style tips for sale $160 im in houston
