stg 2 srt4 vs frc vette hey guys, i have a friend who just got stg 2 put on his 05 srt4(hasnt installed turbo toys yet) and he wanted a piece of my other friends 00 frc vette with a corsa catback. they raced awhile back when both were stock and the vette just humiliated the srt4. well they wanted to see how much of a difference the stg 2 would make. so we go out last night and go from a 40 roll, supposedly the "hot spot" for the srt's. well when they shut down at 140mph the vette prolly had 6 or 7 cars on him. it was ridiculous. i thought the stg 2 on the srt4's was suppose to make a hugh difference, but we can see it doesnt! thanx.

all i can say is i was in the lookout vehicle and the vette flew by and then no joke like 2 or 3 sec later the srt4 came by. it was crazy. his vette isnt that crazy fast, my car is faster then his. 
. the guy in the srt said he didnt mess up either.

really? i thought they only put like 260 to the wheels with stg 2? he has the stg 2 pcm which comes tuned and has all the other parts(wga,tip bar and map sensor, injectors,etc.)

Yeah 260-280 something like that but they only weigh 2900 pounds. I have seen some stage 2s up at 300 to the ground though. How much boost is he running? Tell him to check and see what it spikes to and what it falls to because he could have a boost leak. I remember something about there being an issue with stage 2 pcms and everyone was going back to stage 1 or stage 0. Either way if he lost by that much something isnt right it should have alteast been a neck and neck run.

spikes past 20 and hold 18 through redline then tappers off to 16. everything runs fine on it, no boost leaks. do u think if he went back to stg1 pcm, it would work better.

even if they weigh 2900 lbs, the vette weighs around 3100 lbs and has 30-40 more horsepower then the srt4. and then the gearing factor; 5-spd versus the 6-spd. the vette stays in his powerband better then the srt4 would. most srt4 that have 300 to the wheels have more then just stg2 on them.

When I had a Stage 2 SRT (with intake, exhaust, slicks) it ran 12.8 @ 108. 265 hp / 306 trq at the wheels. Not surprised your friend pulled hard over 100. Topend is not on par vs an LS1 vette.
Also tell him to add the toys. He'll probably still lose at the topend, but only by a couple cars....... 40-100 should be a dead heat.

hmmm BubbaBFP raced an SRT-4 Stage 2 and he killed the SRT-4 from a dig by like 8 cars.
I raced an SRT-4 with stage 2 and other crap, and I kicked his *** from a stop, but from a roll, I spun first gear, second car we were even, when I hit third I started pulling. The guy in the SRT-4 said "your the first camaro ive lost to" hehehe.

well they started at 35 mph so i mean even from down low there was no competition. my boy has turbo toys for it, just hasnt hooked it up, this wednesday he will. we checked and no boost leak or anything either. i guess there just isnt that much that can hang with the ol ls1!

stage 2 srt4 are good for low mid 13s and low 13s with DRs
my buddy has a stage 2 fully complete and with DRs up front and all he could muster was an 8.4 in the 1/8. when me and him went at it he got a car lenght on me form the start and then i pull even with him we both finished pretty even. and im stock except for a cutout. stage 3 is where they get really fast because thats when the bigger turboes go on.

At my track here in hawaii ( wich is 3-6 tenths slower than tracks in the mainland)..
My 2.73 geared C5 ran 13.5 at 103 mph bone stock and put down 299 rwhp....
A guy at the track pulled up beside me and asked me if I wanted to run..He had a SRT-4 and he said it was stage two since two days prior...
At my track they run 14.7-15.1 bone stock....But he said it put down 265 rwhp on the dyno....
Well we ran many times and the best he did all night out of 5-7 runs was a 13.6 at 103 mph...
ABOUT 1 FULL SECOND FASTER THAN ALL THE STOCK ONES AT MY TRACK.....PRETTY IMPRESSIVE..
But still a tenth slower than the 13.5 my C5 could do bone stock...
It was really funny cas this guy pulled up behind me thinking he was gonna equal or kill me.....
he didnt know that my car had 350 rwhp and 345 rwt at that time and was running 13.0's on street tires...
I beat his srt-4 like a red headed step child every time....
These import guys do some mods and thank their the **** cas they can run with a stock C5......What they forget is that we can do NA mods and run with new Vipers..

This one time in my SS in sig I pulled up on a Geo Metro. He revved and laughed, I revved and smiled. LIght goes green and I nail it and he does to and I pull a good 10-12 city miles and,m littie did he know what I was packing under the hood. I neat this Geo like a green headed stepchild, it made me feel like a MAAAAAAN i tell you. Little do they know they can mod for bus style luggage spavcd but I can mod fore more waste of timeness.
